Bodyscape (2013) is an artist’s multiple series of three pieces made of paper collage and sewing.
Using paper trimmings and ephemera from old medical books, this piece one of the first explorations I made in the relations of body and landscape.
The writing in the back of each multiple comes from Norse mythology and reads:
Bones become rocky outcroppings
Teeth become gravel and boulders
Flesh becomes the earth
Blood becomes the sea
It is part of project Marmitex from the Graduate Visual Arts program of UDESC/Brazil.
Paisagens da Ilha-Corpo (2013)
This piece consists of postcard designs that explore the relationship or body and landscape. It is part of Project Relevo Movel, from the graduate school of Visual Arts at UDESC.
The postcards were then distributed and displayed at newsstands alongside regular tourist postcards from Florianopolis/Brazil.
